One Rich Guy, Many Poor Nations

The flags of the world look on
As one man's power rises

This guy has probably more money than many countries in the world.

Memories of a War

If I had more time to be reflective, while I was here
I would read the names, trace some of them with my fingers
Or just stand quiet.
I do not know you,
but I pray
that your deaths are not in vain.

Reaching for the Moon

Reflection on the command module of the first manned mission to land on the moon.

Find me, where,
Maybe on the moon,
Where the shadows are many,
And the sun gone too soon.

Playing with Mirrors at Novotel Suvarnabhumi

Thai Airlines has been treating its passengers in transit in Thailand to an overnight stay at Novotel in Suvarnabhumi Airport - Thailand's spanking new international airport.

It was quite a treat! And it's free!
And there's free buffet breakfast too... yummy!

Here, I played around with the shiny things in the bathroom - the mirrors, of course - and the faucet.

Friends, Mirrors and the Soul

There was this really nice message that got forwarded way back, I can't remember when.. and I probably have that message kept somewhere.. I just can't look for it now. But it says that friends are a mirror to our soul and each friend reflects a different facet of us.

Here's celebrating the friendships of then and now... and friends to come... as the soul continues its journey of growth and being found.

Mirror Projects at the US of A

This one was at Florida's Magic Kingdom. I'm really not sure what the sign is for -- maybe a clothing shop.

The next four photos were taken with Christmas balls. The first three were from MGM Studios, Florida, I think - we went to at least five theme parks, I just remember that in this photo, it was the theme park where "The Mummy" roller coaster ride was. I didn't ride. I made sure to ask if it was a ride or a show. The attendant said "The Mummy" was a ride. No more roller coasters for me. Ever. The theme parks had these huge Christmas trees with huge Christmas balls -- and I had a ball taking mirror projects. The fourth photo in this series was from Islands of Adventure.

These two shots were taken from "The Bean" - that famous (?) sculpture (?) at Chicago's Millennium Park. It was nice, actually.

Bangkok Mirror Project

Most of the "projects" here were taken from the Grand Palace. Everything there was so elaborately decorated with tiles, glass, other shining, shimmering things --- lots of gold coating.

Can you find me?

I don't think you'll find me here -- but you can see Clark Kent somewhere.

This one was on a tuktuk, Bangkok's version of the rickshaw, or of our own tricycle. It is a widely used form of urban transport in Bangkok . The driver was supposed to take us to some great temple. He did take us to a temple - but it was a minor one that didn't seem to be in the tourist map.
